Welcome to Lajtkraft, where nature and color is at the forefront.
An artisan research lab dedicated to the study of origins of colors, botanical ingredients and the testing of natural dyes for textiles.
The goal is to spark joy in color craft and to help others do the same. Lajtkraft is passionate about bringing people closer to nature through exploration, experimentation, and education.
Come join me on this journey in fascination of discovering new colors in different countries through travel and study.

What do i do?
Dye plants have been used since ancient times to obtain a wide range of colors for various purposes. Understanding the botanical and mineral origins of colors derived from dye plants is important for achieving desired shades, ensuring colorfastness, and optimising the dyeing process and getting familiar with properties they can naturally deliver. This journal aims to fill the knowledge gaps in dye plants gardening and provide a comprehensive understanding of the intricate relationship between plants, botanical constituents, minerals, and the resulting colors.
It is all about exploring the history of colors and dyes at color lab. I utilize botany to find the perfect seeds and plants, which I then grow and use to extract vibrant hues. I love to take trips to gather more inspiration and knowledge and bring new undiscovered colors. My testing process helps me determine how to create the perfect dye for the composition I am working with. I work with fabric piece dyeing as well as garment dyeing.
